BRS>Rizoma>Protect ya brakelever

You’re going to see all the MotoGP riders with these brake lever guards this year. It’s a safety issue. You probably remember some of the horrific crashes that have happened in the past when a brake lever is slammed shut by bumping into another rider. The 2006 round at Catalunya with Sete and Loris comes to mind.

Rizoma has offered their version, called the Rizoma ProGuard system, for several years.
First thoughts about this were "posing and bling". Bling or not… they can save you from a serious crash and can potentially save your non-folding levers if you do crash, which is a good thing as you might be able to finish your race, track day or ride home!
GP riders will be using them only on the brake side, not the clutch. They use folding levers to reduce the risk of snapping a lever in an accident during the race. If you track ride I suggest the brake side at a minimum for safety and both sides if you want a little extra insurance from destroying your non-folding levers during a crash.
Maybe a bit overdone on a streetbike, but then..they are still "bling".
