Bitubo WME shocks on a Laverda 1200

changing rearshocks on Laverda 1200
This one came by to visit ..any idea from which bike this is?? the older blokes reading here must recognize..

"Bad boys for life"!. the 1100 Katana on the right was world's fastest production bike when it went into production in the early eighties. The Honda VF1000R is "mid eighties" , a bit exotic and is even faster on topspeed. Both bikes are a bit rare these days. And both bikes handle like a freight-train . Compared to these prehistoric monsters a BMW S1000RR corners like a housefly!

Some blokes have al the luck!  Benelli 250 racer in the livingroom!  and some more stuff in their garage...

some work on VTR1000 41 showa forks.. These forks will be used in a Honda CB1100 BolDór classic endurance bike. The stock springs are WAY to soft, the piston design sucks, and shimstacks are not okay.. It's needs new seals, new oil, new Ohlins springs and racespec pistons en shimstacks.. complete rebuild.

Stock OEM Gixxer 1100 "slabby" shock after 3 hours of dismounting , cleaning, brushing.  Normally these old crappy shocks are so worn out that your best off throwing it in dustbin and buy a good aftermarket replacement shock. In this case we gonna rebuild the stock one..at least..we give it a chance.

Well,  since there's more in life then Motorcycles, racing, suspension and searching for cool bike (and half naked women) photo's for the BRS-blog.  Meet "Jack"!   Jack is a kindalike JackRussel terrier which we adopted recently. This aprox 8 year old little chap is a bit of a sad story.  He was in a Belgium animal-shelter when an older Belgium single man took him to "home". Not really a great home,..the man did not even name the dog!  Then some time later "Jack's" new owner died.  Jack then was left alone in the house for some 4/5 weeks, occasional being fed by a concerned neighbour. The neighbours also did some effort in finding a new home for the dog.  back to animal shelter was no option.  The neighbour put jack on facebook for some  weeks in order to find him a new home.  Reactions were zero!  seems that nobody was willing to give this dog a new home! (unbelievable..people spend rather some 1500,- on some  "Labradoodle" pup..because thats "fashion"). So , we decided to "rescue" Jack and now since some weeks he lives with us.  Here to stay offcourse!  we've named him "jack!" cool little chap it is.. and a good "mouse catcher " ( last week he got 3!).  Jack offcourse deserves a place on the BRS blog!

Proper Job! Finished rebuilding 1986 GSXR1100 slabside OEM shock. SUPERCLEAN from the inside and the outside now/ fresh oil inside / linksystem done and a nice oldskool blue colour on the spring.  What to do with it now?  The thing is still 26 years old , so it wont work  good enough on a race classic superbike.  Did spend a LOT of hours on this shock, and it will be a good match for the Slabby 1100 forks (restoration,.. see pictures above) i'm working on.
